FAQs
What is StandardAnswer?
StandardAnswer is a conversationally based social network that asks people to explore
themselves and others through a series of questions and answers. The more questions
you answer, the more people learn...and the more interesting you become.
How can people find me in StandardAnswer?
StandardAnswer search is completely unique in the social networking space and is
an extraordinarily powerful tool for locating specific types of people. Once people
answer the questions about themselves that they consider important to defining who
they are (passionately held information), that information becomes searchable. What's
especially unique about StandardAnswer is that these pieces of information can be
combined logically into a more specific search. So, if you were looking for people
who enjoyed Golf AND owned a 57 Chevy OR a 75 Cadillac, you could do that search.
The possibilities are truly endless.
What are "Communities" in StandardAnswer?
Any search can be turned into a community. For instance, if you found 300 people
that fit your search for people who owned a 57 Chevy, you could save that search
as a community...you might call it "57 Chevy Group". You may keep these communities
private or publish the community on your own profile page to just friends only or
to anyone coming to your page. Additionally, you may also nominate the community
for Public Use. Communities that are approved for public use will be published in
a special section off the main StandardAnswer landing page and may be blogged about
as well.
What is the privacy policy of StandardAnswer?
StandardAnswer never sells, trades or otherwise gives away your personally identifiable
information. StandardAnswer does release the aggregate (rolled up) information to
various third parties for commercial and research purposes.
I created a question that doesn't exist anymore. What happened to it?
We try very hard not to allow people to create duplicate questions, however sometimes
it does happen and when it does, we remove the newest duplicate. The reason for
this is that in order to be fair to the original owner of the question, we must
remove new duplicates when they appear. We also remove questions for other reasons
such as obscenity or offensiveness.
I have an idea for a new category. How can I get StandardAnswer to use it?
If I want to create a complete questionnaire of questions, can I do that?
YES! You can definitely create an entire questionnaire and send it to whomever you
wish.
What is the StandardAnswer point system?
The StandardAnswer point system is a way to accumulate points for prizes. There
are a variety of actions that will net you points. Signing up, answering questions,
creating a question and adding a friend are all examples of actions that will get
you points. Different activities reward you with differing amounts of points. The
value and types of prizes change from time to time but you can always find out what
the latest sets of prizes are.
What is a flag?
People can Flag questions, answers or comments for being explicit (obscenity), commercial
(SPAM), or abusive (just being downright mean or offensive). These comments will
then be reviewed by the staff at StandardAnswer and potentially removed from the
system forever. Once something has been removed because of a flag, it is gone forever.
What are sponsored questions?
Glad you asked! Sponsored questions are purchased by companies in order to collect
statistics about peoples tastes and preferences about their brand. We never give
or sell contact information about you to anyone, ever. The sponsors are only looking
for the statistics about the question.
